A 'zero-tolerance approach' to flytipping, promised by Labour during the recent elections appears to be yet another empty promise as flytipping continues to pile high in alleyways across Stoke-on-Trent.
The new Labour administration promised to tackle flytipping across the city within 100 days of taking office, but recent evidence suggests that not only is flytipping continuing to blight local communities, but timescales for the removal of reported cases are now taking three times longer than during the previous Conservative administration.
Local community group Etruria Matters recently posted on twitter highlighting the issue, saying "We seem to have a massive amount of reported flytipping still around in Etruria. The app (Stoke-on-Trent City Council's reporting tool) is mentioning a delay stating it could take up to 30 days. Normally, reported flytipping gets removed within 10 working days. No delay mentioned on the website."
Once again it seems that whilst Labour promises, they are simply are unable to deliver for the people of Stoke-on-Trent.
