A Life-saving community defibrillator has been installed in Blurton, thanks to work by local Councillor Lorraine Beardmore, Longton Hall Community Assocation and the local community. The defibrillator has been set up on the junction of Nash Drive and Longton Hall Road.
The campaign to fundraise for the defibrillator was supported by local residents and businesses including OneStop Shop; Silhoutte; Dolven Funeral Services and St Pauls Church.
Councillor Beardmore said "I'm delighted that this life saving equipment has been added to the local area. The community have long campaigned for the installation of a defibrillator and I was pleased to be able to support the campaign by using my ward budget to pay for the base for the defib and to contribute towards the cost of the defib and installation. This is a brilliant solar-powered unit which cost more than originally fundraised for due to the design which means that the unit doesn't have to be connected to a building. I'd like to thank AEDdonate who came up with the unit and who paid the additional costs."
